Gabriel Rolls Over!

In mid June at about 2 1/2 months old, Gabriel really started trying to roll over. He managed to roll on his side several times but couldn't quite figure out how to get over onto his arms...they were in the way. His momentum started getting stronger and stronger and on June 22nd, he finally managed to do it! Here is a video posted above!

Friends Together Again!!

Out in the backyard...they had been running through the sprinklers!
Kiana in the activity saucer!
Gabriel in his little papasan!
We were so very excited for the Gjovigs trip out to see us last week!! Ayden had been waiting for it ever since we visited last October! Poor guys had to wait that long! They were with us for 9 fun days. We played, we cried (the kids did clash at times and the moms cried when we had to leave each other!) and we had so much fun! Boy do we wish we could live down the street from each other! Well, we cherished this time together!

Filling the "Cars with Gas!"

Kiana had the best appetite for a 10 month old! She has no teeth but eats everything and has to feed herself! :) Cute girl!
We went on several walks this week when it wasn't stagnant heat! It was good to get some exercise!

First time in the activity saucer!

I love watching them focus on something...you just wonder what they are thinking! :)

More Fun With the Gjovigs!

We put Gabriel in the activity saucer for the first time this week since we had it out for Kiana to play in! He likes looking at the King and Queen since they light up and play little tunes!
We packed up a yummy picnic dinner and went over to our Residents Club for swimming and dinner only the weather decided to turn ominous (a bit windy and chilly but not rainy until 5 minutes after we went home thankfully!)
Little Miss Kiana enjoying the swing!
All the boys playing soccer...this was so fun to watch!

At Marbles Museum!

Ahhh...the future happy couple!! Ha,ha!! Bonnie and I keep joking about these two getting married some day so that we can be family!! :) Then we would all have to live near each other because we could share grandchildren! Ha!! :)

Fire hoses ready!!
Arrr, matey...a pirates life for me!
Dads on baby duty!
outside at the museum...Elijah was really good at getting the sand to move through this toy!
This was a highlight for Ayden...getting to use real tools! He has been grabbing everything in our house that he can get his hands on that is "tool like." He gets into Daddy's garage tools, my kitchen tools, everything. Finally a tool bench he could really play with, well except for that real saw...yikes!
On the top floor of the museum, there is this great place where you can build with big leggos. You can even build a fort to hide in! It was fun for everyone!
We're gonna close you in, watch out!

The Boys of the House!

All the boys! I realized that I have not taken any photos of both the kids in several weeks, so here they are!

With all the difficulties we've been going through with Ayden (discipline, potty training, etc.), he really has been consistent with his brother. He has never been rough with him, he has always been loving. It is really nice to see!

At the Beach!

This last weekend, we went out to Wrightsville Beach to try and avoid the extremely hot weather we were having inland. It turns out that the weather out at the beach set record highs, so not too much better than where we live, but a little bit! I didn't manage to take any shots of the other two boys...they were off swimming in the waves and I didn't get the camera back out again. We had a pretty good time, it was a little stressful with the heat and all. I managed to get out to the water with Ayden and play a little bit and meanwhile, a jerk of a college student (the beach was loaded with them :( ) slammed into my ankle on a skid board! Ouch...and he didn't even say sorry. He said, "Watch where you are standing!" Oh the nerve!! Neadless to say, we will be heading to another beach next time!

Drawing Letters!

The first letter that Ayden drew was of course an "A" and the other one here is an upside down "Y" but he drew it right side up. Then he drew his favorite letter (pictured below), an "H." I think he likes drawing the letter H because it is pretty easy...three straight lines. Ayden isn't very interested in numbers except for the occasional counting out loud, but he sure does love his letters! It is pretty obvious that he is into his verbal skills!
I drew the N in the photo...it is all explained in the video below. :)

2 months old & growing fast!

I took a ton of photos, maybe about 30 and got a handful of good ones thankfully. (But they are all good to a parent, I can barely delete any!) You just have to click them fast to get those smiles! Gabriel was 2 months on Wednesday of this week and he goes to the doctor's for his checkup tomorrow (Monday). He is 12 lbs 7 ounces and 23 1/2 inches long. Both of these are 75% on the growth charts. We also had to do a bunch of immunization shots, ouch! Gabriel did well, just a little temperature and a lot of napping!
Thankfully he is fitting into some of Ayden's old 3-6 month clothing because we need the hot weather clothes already around here, we had record heat at the beach this weekend! When Ayden was this little, we were living in Portland and it was not even pool weather until mid July or so. June typically gave us chilly, cloudy weather! So we have mostly pants and long sleeve shirts (some short sleeve) for 3-6 months, guess there is a difference between a January baby and an April baby! :)

Memorial Day Weekend!

The pool opened in mid May, but the weather wasn't quite warm enough to enjoy the pool (its temperature is chilly!) We had such nice Spring weather, barely any humidity...I was loving it!! Now it is June 6th (as I am typing this) and the humidity set in just two days ago with mid 90's! Just two weeks ago it was upper 70's or low 80's. Oh, I miss it already! :)
Here we all are at the pool on the big holiday weekend! It was a lot of fun, our new neighbors were all there and we all hung out together. They also had a fun party on the other side of the club from the pool with bouncy houses, face painting, etc. Fun stuff!
