Two Weeks Old!

Gabriel went for his two week check up on Friday, the 18th. He had gained a pound and 4 ounces...weighing in at 9 lbs even! Everything else seems to be going well also and he is a pretty good sleeper, I often have to wake him up to feed him after about four hours. I definitely don't feel as sleep deprived as I did with Ayden. :)
Of course he sleeps a lot these days...with some awake time in the morning and some in the late evening.
He already enjoys the activity mat...he looks at himself in the mirror and stares at the animals hanging above.
Already noticing the world around him. :)

Fun and Run Class!

Fun and Run Class!

Ayden goes to a 30 minute fun class at our Residents Club every Tuesday morning. They usually just run around with some props like big balls, cones or in this case pinwheels - it was a windy day!

Ayden's Art Class

Ayden has been attending a community art class for several weeks now and has really enjoyed it. They first had a nursery rhyme theme, then it was things that go and now they are doing the teddy bear picnic. This is a photo of the teddy bear from the picnic. Oh and buzz lightyear is behind the mask! :)

The Big 30th Birthday Bash!

Pancho finally received his surprise memory scrapbook for his birthday. We put together as much of it as we could before the party, but there is still more to be done. I guess having a baby is my excuse! :)
It was a really fun party, but not too much craziness since the baby was only a week old. We had yummy Indian food take out so that we could just have fun and not fuss over the details. I think he felt loved. :)

Pancho's 30th Birthday!

These photos are from Pancho's real birthday on Thursday, the 10th. Caryl and I made him an oatmeal cake with cream cheese frosting and his favorite spaghetti dinner. We celebrated with a big party on Saturday, the 12th...photos to come.

Gabriel's First Bath

You can tell in this photo how Ayden reacted to all the attention being paid to Gabriel during his first bath. :)

A Big Brother Party!

On the day we came home from the hospital, we had a big brother party for Ayden, complete with ice cream cake, gifts for Ayden (to keep him busy while everyone pays attention to the baby!) and spiderman decorations. :) We had Cousins Frank and Sonja over and the neighbors, Dustin and Catherine to make the party more fun! Ayden finally got to open his new castle lego set. It is definitely his new favorite toy. Ayden likes to kiss his new baby brother and likes to say he is good at this and that because he is a good big brother!

Ready to go home!

All Dressed to go home!

A Happy Family!

Big Brother Ayden!!

Here he is!

Gabriel Lowe Quinones joined us on that same day we went in for the induction on April 4th at 10:08 pm. He was positioned incorrectly, which was most likely the reason that he didn't come on his own. This position showed when he tried to come out side ways and with a hand by his head!! He turned thankfully and was born after a few tries. :)

A Birth Day!

On Friday, April 4th, Pancho and I along with my mom and Ayden who were in the waiting room went to the 41 week OB visit. I was wondering what was going to happen since I was officially one week overdue and very, very tired of being pregnant. By the end of the appointment, I was scheduled for an induction on the following Monday night. Uhhhgggg! I had to wait three more days! I was going to come in for an ultrasound on Monday before the induction to check on the baby again to make sure everything was fine. Before we left, the OB said, "Lets just do the ultrasound right now." The purpose was to check the baby and make sure that his fluid levels were normal. It was a good thing that she decided to do the ultrasound that day because the baby's fluid level was starting to go down, which means that the placenta was starting to lose functioning power since he was overdue. She then said the words that were magic to my ears. "I think we better send you over to the hospital today." So, after going home and getting our things together and having lunch, we drove over to the hospital while my mom, Granny, Papi and Ayden stayed at home and waited. They started me on petosin not long after getting hooked up to the IV in my hospital room. I was happy and not feeling too much pain from the contractions most of the day until later in the evening when I was nearly 4 cm dilated. At this point, the contractions intensified tremendously and I felt like I needed some help. I decided to take a small dose of a drug called Stadol to help take the edge off the pain. This made the rest of the contraction pain actually bearable versus seemingly impossible. I went from 4 cm to 8 cm in about 45 minutes and another half an hour later, I was 10 cm and I was ready to push. Gabriel wanted to come out with his head side ways, which made the birth process a little complicated. Due to this, I suffered some third degree tearing and two episiotimies. At that point, it was "whatever I have to do to get him out!" At 10:08 pm, he finally emerged and thankfully, he just has a little bump to show for his troubles getting out. He was 8lbs, 3 oz. and 21.5 inches long. During the "easy" part of the labor, everyone had come to the hospital to visit and had just left when it started getting more difficult. My mom and Caryl made it back after putting Ayden to bed just 10 minutes after Gabriel was born. It was an incredible day!

One Last Egg Hunt!

On Saturday, March 22nd, the day before Easter, I organized an Egg Hunt at Lake Crabtree with Ayden's playgroup. We only had one family join us that was new to the area, but we all had a fun time. The weather was cool, but nice and we ate a picnic lunch by the playground. Brandon and Frank were leaving for home the next morning, so we had our last outing on this day.

Can you tell that their are two kids wrestling with Pancho? :)

Dying Easter Eggs!

Easter Egg Hunt at the Amberly Club!

Ayden hunted for eggs in the super easy 3 and under hunt, while Brandon participated in the 4-6 year old hunt. It was still fun for Ayden since he doesn't really remember Easter last year, so this was new and exciting...to be able to find candy filled eggs that the Easter Bunny left for him!

I had to include this pose...Ayden especially thought he was so "cool" in his new sun glasses!
